For the Steam Train enthusiasts, here are a few interesting facts about
theses amazing locomotives.
The locomotives mostly used on the line are "class 24" (built 1948) and
"class 19D" (placed in service 1937 and 1948). |
|
However, other locomotives dating from as early as 1896 can be seen on the
line from time to time. They include Class 7A, 7B, GB, 14CRB and 19C.
Class 32 diesel locomotives also used to haul heavier freight trains on
the line.
Light refreshments are available on the train and souvenirs and
memorabilia may be purchased at the Knysna Station. |
