Bantry Bay is home to a unique
little beach known as Saunder’s Rocks. This beautiful Cape Town beach
contains awesome tidal pools for safe swimming. The cosmopolitan area of
Camps bay has its own beach, as well as Glen beach right next door. After a
refreshing swim or surf, take a stroll to the café’s and sip on a well
deserved cocktail as you admire this magnificent beach.
For those who are feeling too hot to even wear a bathing suit, go swimming
at Sandy Bay. Cape Towns’ most well known nudist beach is well secluded and
a popular destination for those looking for an all over tan. Next to Sandy
Bay, but separated by a rocky outcrop, is Llandudno beach. Complete with
glistening sands, icy blue waters and palm trees, Llandudno is a glorious
beach and is mostly protected from Cape Town’s predominant winds.
The world class beaches of Clifton are a favorite hangout for models and
film stars alike. So if you wish to tan with the rich and famous, strut your
stuff on this glorious beach. Noordhoek has long stretches of sandy beaches
ideal for water sports. The small village of Kommetjie is home to Long Beach
- a popular beach for surfing, angling and sunbathing. In and around
Muizenberg you’ll find the tidal pool at St James and the small beach known
as Dangers. These waters are a little warmer than the rest of the Western
Cape. Just around the corner is Fish Hoek Beach which has become a popular
hobie-catting destination. Simon’s Town offers magnificent beaches including
Boulders beach which is a haven for the endearing jackass penguin.
The northern suburbs of Cape Town is home to beaches like Bloubergstrand
which has spectacular views of Cape Town's Table Mountain and Robben Island.
Hermanus is a very popular destination, not only for its beautiful beaches,
but also because Southern Right whales migrate to this beautiful region to
mate and calve. Fantastic views of these magnificent creatures are seen from
the beaches in Hermanus.
The Garden Route in the Western Cape boasts the most exquisite scenery and
pristine beaches. George is home to fantastic beaches such as Glentana,
Herold’s Bay and the beautiful Victoria Bay. Swim in warmer waters and
admire the magnificent views of the mountains around you. The Wilderness
boasts long stretches of unspoilt beach with wild waters and nearby Knysna
is home to ‘The Heads’ where beaches offer fantastic but rough waves. Just
outside of Knysna, you will find the town of Noetzie which is famous for its
3 romantic castles on the magnificent beach.
The beautiful Plettenberg Bay is home to incredible beaches such as Robberg
and Lookout. Robberg Beach offers fantastic whale watching whereas Lookout
beach offers remarkable views of the Outeniqua Mountains.
Throughout Cape Town and the Western Cape you will find an abundance of
unspoilt and pristine beaches ideal for water sports, sunbathing, swimming
